Negotiating Issues While Sending Emails via a Proxy Server

When it comes to connecting your
computer to the internet over a shared network, you may typically encounter a proxy server. Essentially proxy servers are used in offices and at times even at home as an intermediary for dishing out resources including an internet connection in an effective manner. Now many proxy server implementations in offices are done in a sledgehammer fashion wherein the objective involves content filtering with several other aspects being overlooked. Given the technical elements related to proxy servers, you may at time while sending an email from Outlook encounter an error message that the application is unable to connect to the proxy server. Let’s look at the ways to resolve the issue

Check if your Windows Root certificates are in order

The moment you encounter a proxy related issue while using the Outlook client, you need to look at root certificates for your Windows machine and verify whether they are still in order. Outdated root certificates will typically lead to connection issues.

Verify whether the certificate is located at the right place

At times when you are using a self signed certificate, it may end up getting stored in a different place rather than its correct destination which is the Trusted Authorities list. In such a scenario you need to go to the Run window and key in “certmgr.msc”. Once the relevant screen opens up, visit the Trusted Root node and right click and move to the Import option. Once it shows up, import the self signed certificate from the Intermediate Certification node, which is the default place where such certificates land up in.

Contact your IT Support team

If the above steps have failed to resolve the issue, you need to immediately get in touch with the technical team in your office and explain the situation to them.

Saving your Data through an Outlook Crash

However Outlook has the propensity to crash due to even minor errors and in some cases such crashes can mess up the data files. To avoid losing data during an Outlook crash, you need to keep a pst repair tool in your system. One of the applications that you can consider for this role is DataNumen Outlook Repair which is often considered to be the best in its class. It is capable of extracting data from backed up disk images include a Norton ghost drive and can tackle large PST files with ease. Moreover even if your data in present in a virtual machine drive or a Nero disk image, the tool can be expected to deliver positive results. The application incidentally has the capacity to draw out all Outlook elements and thus all the notes and journal entries that you have made remains accessible to you after a recovery operation has been performed.
