Removing Unwanted Add-On from Outlook

The illustrious heritage of Ms Outlook application
has drawn a number of third party developers to offer add-on tools for the software. For example you can come across several email campaign tracker add-ons for Outlook or a number of time management plug-ins. At some point of time you may have experimented with a third party add-on, and later you may wish to remove it as you suspect it to be buggy or find it plain useless. While installing Add-ons is very easy in Outlook, removing them is a bit tricky.

Removing Unwanted Add-On from latest iterations of Outlook

If you are using Outlook 2010 or 2013, removing Outlook Add-ons can be achieved by using the following steps.

  1. Launch the Outlook Application and then move to the Tool tab and click on it
  2. Now scroll down to the Trust Center and then move to Add-ins tab
  3. Once there, under manage, please select Com Add-ins to initiate the removal process
  4. Just select the Add-In you wish to remove and then click on the Remove option
  5. Next click Ok to complete the process

Please note that you should not try removing an Exchange client extension without consulting the IT team in your office as some of them may be important. In case you suspect any Add-on to be buggy, you can always report the same to your IT support team.
The above steps work perfectly for Ms Outlook 2010 and 2013, while it may include minor variations for Outlook 2007.

Eliminating Add-ons in Outlook 2003 and others

The process of removing Add-ons is slightly different in older versions such as Outlook 2003. You need to click on Tools then move to Options and hit the Others tab. Next under Advanced Options you should select the Com Add-ins. Once you have identified the Add-in you wish to remove, you need to uncheck the box next to the specific Add-in and then click on the Remove option and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.

Eliminate the Chances of Data Loss in an Outlook Crash

In the computing world, robustness is a highly preferred trait that only a few applications can barely lay claim too. The Ms Outlook application despite its extensive list of achievements still remains open to faults and can crash due to a logical error. Some Outlook crashes can lead to data loss due to file corruption and in order to avoid such a situation from arising you should always keep an outlook repair tool like DataNumen Outlook repair handy. With its sophisticated algorithm this proficient tool can bring out your email contents from thoroughly compromised PST files while maintaining complete data integrity. In case you suspect that your Outlook application has been affected by a virus, you can use the tool to save the extracted file on a network drive. It incidentally can also be used to discover PST files that do not show in a compromised Outlook application.
