In course of our regular office
day we end up sending numerous emails through the Outlook application. Imagine a situation when one bright day when you send an email you end up receiving an object not found error message. You may be quite perplexed by the error message as the application was sending emails quite well say a day back. In such a scenario you need to follow a series of steps to isolate and resolve the issue.
day we end up sending numerous emails through the Outlook application. Imagine a situation when one bright day when you send an email you end up receiving an object not found error message. You may be quite perplexed by the error message as the application was sending emails quite well say a day back. In such a scenario you need to follow a series of steps to isolate and resolve the issue.
Start with checking your Outlook Profile
One of the most common reasons for this
error to occur involves the corruption of your Outlook profile. You should try
creating a new Outlook profile by typing in Mail in the Run window. In the
screen that shows up click on Show Profiles and click on Add to create a new
profile. In the first step you would have to assign a new profile name and then
add your email ID to the new profile. Based on your need you can choose the
type of account, say Pop3 and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the
process.
Check your SMTP Settings
In some cases the problem may still remain
and it may happen if your SMTP settings which are typically automatic taken are
not getting picked up. In such a scenario you can manually key in your SMTP
settings based on the details provided by your email service provider. To
change the SMTP settings you need to go to Tools and then move to Email Account
settings. In the subsequent screen select the option to View and Change
existing email account and click on the Next button. In the subsequent screen,
select your email account and click on the Change button. You should now uncheck
the option to auto detect settings and then manually key in the Pop 3 and SMTP
details.
Check for Outlook Data file corruption
In most cases the above two steps should
resolve the issue. However in case they do not resolve the problem, you may be
looking at an Outlook data file corruption issue. In such a scenario you need
to backup your Outlook data and then reinstall the application.
The Outlook application can crash even
without an error code
Most Outlook users who have used the
application for years will know that the application has a predilection to
crash unannounced. Suddenly without giving an error code your Outlook
application may refuse to load up or you may suddenly find your Inbox empty.
